Paste is launching a new series called "Live at Moog" that brings bands to the Moog Music Factory in Asheville, North Carolina. There, the bands mess about with whatever analog equipment they may want to mess with and record live versions of a couple songs while they do so.
The first episode of Live At Moog features venerable indie stalwarts Yo La Tengo playing a trio of songs, "All Your Secrets," "Nothing to Hide," and "Periodically (Double or Triple)." As expected, the various synth sounds available to the band sound fantastic, adding unexpected layers to these tracks.
Paste already has several episodes lined up to follow Yo La Tengo, including White Rabbits and Matisyahu. It'll be interesting to see how the excellent White Rabbits track "Percussion Gun" would sound translated to Moog. Check out the clips here. [Matador]
