Yo La Tengo hitting the airwaves, taking requests

For thirteen years now, Yo La Tengo have taken to the airwaves on New Jersey's WFMU to help raise money for the station. The band takes requests from listeners who pledge money to the station. This usually results in Yo La Tengo visiting some crazy covers. This year the fun goes down on Sunday, March 2, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Not within the station's broadcast area? No worries - just head to www.wfmu.org.

Want even more Yo La on the radio? Band frontman Ira Kaplan has been DJing for WFMU at various times of late. The next time he'll be at station's helm will be Thursday, February 28, in the early morning hours of 6:00-9:00 a.m.
