The poor showing of Mars Needs Moms at multiplexes across the country spelled doom for Robert Zemeckis's long-rumored remake of Yellow Submarine. The film, which was to have featured sixteen Beatles songs and a bunch of creepy looking zombie avatars created by motion capture, suddenly looked like a bad investment for Disney. Zemeckis is now free to shop the film around, but there aren't that many studios out there willing to take a risk on a movie using technology that has been largely rejected by audiences.
