For those holding out for some sort of scratch-and-sniff craziness to go along with the album title, Yeasayer’s Fragrant World artwork disappoints. But for those who like their album covers blobby and amorphous, the image will do just fine, as it goes hand-in-hand with the Brooklyn band’s penchant for ever-evolving dance-pop.
As previously reported, the record is due out August 21 via Secretly Canadian, and you can now pre-order through either the label’s website or iTunes. The deluxe Secretly Canadian pre-order includes the album on CD as well as gatefold 2xLP blue marble vinyl, a poster of the album art as newsprint, and a limited-edition glow-in-the-dark 7″ featuring (oddly enough) the non-album track “Fragrant World” and “No Bones,” the latter remixed by Helado Negro. The iTunes pre-order only includes “Fragrant World.” Take that, digital world!
