It appears that Yeasayer is prepping not one but two new full-length albums for release in late spring or summer 2012. At least, that's what we're gathering from their recent interview with Spin. The Brooklyn band, which released Odd Blood last year, revealed the fact that they have 22 new tracks recorded already.
And, in their words, the music sounds "like an Aaliyah album if you played it backwards and slowed it down. Or David Bowie’s Lodger. Those two are major influences." Yeasayer then noted that the tracks will be broken up into one "real album with three-and-a-half to four minute pop songs" and one Internet-only record "that’s more like a soundtrack." [CoS]
