Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire to Soundtrack Spike Jonze's Where the Wild Things Are?

The new Spike Jonze feature, an adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s classic children’s story Where the Wild Things Are, is set for release in October this year. Jonze co-wrote the screenplay with author Dave Eggers  and the cast features Forest Whitaker, Paul Dano, Catherine Keener, James Gandolfini and many other impressive names. Needless to say, it looks highly promising, although Warner Bros. may not agree with that assertion.

Test screenings of the film featured songs from the Arcade Fire and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and it's possible that the final product could include the oft-rumored music composed by Karen O and Deerhunter singer Bradford Cox. The trailer for Where the Wild Things Are, which will run before the upcoming Monsters vs. Aliens in a couple of weeks time, features the Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up” from Funeral. [The Playlist]
