Yann Tiersen Shares Video For “A Midsummer Evening” / Tour Dates

French multi-instrumentalist Yann Tiersen has been actively recording music for two decades. The songwriter’s eighth studio album, ∞ (Infinity), came out on May 19, 2014 (Mute) with much focus on how this record will free him from being famous as the Amélie composer. ∞ (Infinity) is a multi-dimensional piece reflecting the multi-cultural elements from its contributors that bridges Tiersen’s native Brittany to the album’s conception in Iceland.

The experimental pop artist  is about to embark on a US tour, then to Europe in the fall, and an appearnce at Austin’s Fun Fun Fest in November. The first single, “A Midsummer Evening”, from ∞ is accompanied by a black and white video starring Andy Dick. In the Marcus Herring directed production, waking up to an apocalyptic world is just another day for a guy who seems to be a magnet for mishaps – a humorous indefatigability of life reflecting the triumphant and expansive work of Tiersen.
