Details have been announced about Merge’s 20th anniversary music festival that we mentioned earlier. It will be held July 22-27, with four of those nights being hosted at the Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, North Carolina, and one night at UNC Chapel Hill’s Memorial Hall. The total lineup will feature twenty-five bands, but right now the only ones announced are Superchunk, Spoon, Conor Oberst, M. Ward, Destroyer, Polvo, Spent, the Rosebuds, Guv’ner, Pipe, and the Broken West. Five-day passes are only $150, which I’d say is worth it for just the initial lineup. Tickets go on sale next Wednesday, April 8. For more info, go to www.mergerecords.com/xxmerge/.
