The art-rockers behind Xiu Xiu have released a slew of massive plans to commemorate the release of their new record, Dear God, I Hate Myself, which is coming out via Kill Rock Stars on Feb. 23. In addition the group is releasing a deluxe edition of the album via both their own website and the KRS website. The deluxe edition is limited to 100 pressings.
According to Pitchfork, all pressings of the deluxe edition will include homemade chocolate. Who the chocolate has been homemade by is unclear, which is kind of exciting and scary with Xiu Xiu involved. Weirder (and scarier) is the fact that 21 pressings of the edition, to be sold exclusively through the band's website, will be priced at $40 and include shirts that read "Xiu Xiu for Life" in actual f'in blood.
You can preorder the non-bloody version from KRS' website right now and, as a consolation prize, get some stickers. It is unclear whether this is a better or worse additional prize to the mystery chocolate. [Pitchfork]
