Wu-Tang ready The 8 Diagrams

More details have emerged surrounding The 8 Diagrams, the next album from Wu-Tang. The clan is currently recording in New York's Legacy Recording Studios. So far we can expect to hear E.Z. Mo Bee, Marley Marl, Q-Tip, DJ Scratch and Nile Rodgers. RZA spoke about the group's return after a six year layoff:
"This isn't a comeback. We never went anywhere in the first place, we were just working on various different projects and this is the first group album in six years and the first European Wu-Tang tour featuring all members."

Any more posthumous ODB appearances I wonder?

Is it okay to have mixed feelings about this?

Wu-Tang hasn't been hot for years. Putting Marley Marl and Mo Bee just sounds like a lame attempt at "Old School/Hip-Hop isn't dead" messages, which are as played out as these "real emcees" claims of bringing back hip-hop.

Bring Marley and Mo Bee I think could still work, I bet they have plenty of dope beats.

But rem. that is where WU thrives, is on that high tempo breakbeat, with obscurd sounding kicks and melodies...it'll work...its more a matter of are they going to spit wu-tang sword style or just rap some lyrics and phrases and stories that the typical gang rap makes seem so honorabe now...and besides transformers is coming out, what better time for the wu to form

wu tang is #1 im my books...but i just think it would be twice as dope if the RZA produced the whole album like all the other 'classic' wu albums. dont get me wrong...i know marley marl and mo bee's beats are dope..but seriously, when were they ever associated with the wu as a whole? it's been a minute and i just wish they would give their fans what they all really want to hear from them. 'The 36 chamber' sound 'Wu-Tang Forever' PEACE.

Every post Wu Tang Forever album has been worse than the one before it. You'll never get the original Wu Tang sound back. The members make more money on solo work nowadays, so they're not committed to bangin' out a group project. Shit, but hip hop is doing so bad right now... I hope that I'm wrong.

Wu-Tang never dies... RZA is the smartest producer of all time and if he knows whats good for wu-tang hell bring back that single piano and drum kit style from 36 chambers!!!!

yea aight, "high tempo breakbeat, with obscurd sounding kicks and melodies", i concur! "twice as dope if the RZA produced the whole album like all the other '''classic''' wu albums" i concur! E.Z. Mo Bee, Marley Marl, Q-Tip, DJ Scratch not bad at all. What i'm looking for is a fully in-house project which I think 8 diagrams should be, i mean having all the beats for all wu-solo and group projects done by rza and the wu-elements, EXCLUSIVELY, with that exclusive wu-sound that rza, 4th, tru, math and moongod? are familiar with. dont know man, something like cilvaringz I, he had the right idea. although there was alot of non-sampled live crooning, he kept that wu sound for each track. Its gotta be the wu-elements, otherwise its just anotha hip-hop album, not a wu album, peace

peace to da gods, 1st off E.Z. Mo Bee, Marley Marl, Q-Tip, DJ Scratch not bad, "high tempo breakbeat, with obscurd sounding kicks and melodies" i concur!"twice as dope if the RZA produced the whole album like all the other '''classic''' wu albums" i concur! Lastly this project like so many others will need the employment of the wu-elements (incl. Rza, 4th, math, tru and moongod?). This project needs to be kept in-house similar to cilvaringz I (minus the excessive crooning), with beatmakers who are particularly familiar with the wu-sound, like the above mentioned. Dont know, cuban links 2 should've been in-house like the 1st one, like immobalirity and lex diamonds shoulda been. AIght
