Wu-Tang + Be-Bop Jazz = 'Shaolin Jazz: The 37th Chamber'

Fellow Prefix writer Andrew Winistorfer noted last week that the best new album cover meme is Wu-Note. It features album art from the Wu-Tang Clan catalog re-imagined in the vintage Blue Note style, which classes up the typically rough Wu art. Well, the concept was more than just a slick meme. It also inspired writer Gerald Watson to link with DJ 2-Tone Jones to create an entire mixtape of Be-Bop jazz tracks mashed-up with joints from the Wu's catalog. While mash-ups can be the absolute worst, this really works and gives you a new reason to spin some of hip-hop's best tracks.
