The a capella groups that I saw in college (and by "saw" I mean "walked by as they sang in the union while I had iPod earbuds in") typically covered works by Billy Joel and Elton John. But apparently, a capella groups these days are for showing off left-field indie inclinations: case in point, the video above which finds a group called Momo & The Coop doing Animal Collective's "Leaf House" (from Sung Tongs). The video is pretty cringe-worthy-- especially due to the awkward dancing of the Lurch on the far left-- but I'm kind of impressed with how competent this is. [via Hipster Runoff]
In other Animal Collective news, Merriweather Post Pavilion is out, andis awesome.
that guy was so into, like, the girl in green, like, wanna give her children and everything
that was actually kind of awesome
Can someone please do a mash up of any AC song and Lil Wayne's Louisianimal and call it Louisianimal Collective?
i want to be a part of that!
nothing can make spolied college-kid acapella cool. nothing.
