The Pavement reissues just keep coming. Who knew such slackers had all that unreleased material lying around? On the heels of the deluxe reissues of their first two albums, Slanted and Enchanted and Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain comes record number three, Wowee Zowee. The reissue is being called the Sordid Sentinels Edition, the name coming from some typical Pavement scribblings in the original liner notes. (Following suit, I guarantee the Brighten the Corners reissue, which seems inevitable at this point, will be called the Nicene Creeders Edition.) Already Pavement's magnum opus by far, Matador now bulks the two-disc set up to a nice, round 50 tracks. Highlights include:

• The complete, extremely hard to find Pacific Trim EP.


• Pavement's contribution to the I Shot Andy Warhol soundtrack, "Sensitive Euro Man," as well as what was arguably the best-penned Spiral Stairs song, "Painted Soldiers," from the Brain Candy soundtrack.


• "No More Kings," from the Schoolhouse Rock! Rocks comp.


• Live versions of tunes from earlier albums, "Box Elder" and "Heaven is a Truck."


• A live version of personal favorite "Unfair."
