In one of the more unusual and unlikely pairings, stoney San Francisco-based pysch-rockers, Wooden Shjips recently released a cover of "Drunk Girls" by LCD Soundsystem. Full of fuzzed-out, droning guitars and a cheeky, simplistic keyboard line, the cover falls somewhere between an ode to Velvet Underground and early Jesus and the Mary Chain. Which makes complete sense in a weird, post-punk sort of way. Crystal Stilts must be kicking themselves for not thinking of this first.
