Women’s Public Strain is shaping up to be one of the most promising leftfield rock albums of the year, and its release on Jagjaguwar on Sept. 28 will be followed by a string of tour dates. The group will join forces with fellow Canadians, the awkwardly named calendar fetishists DD/MM/YYYY, who will open on most of the dates.
DD/MM/YYYY has just signed a deal with Geoff Barrow’s U.K. label Invada Records, who will issue the band’s Black Square record with additional songs in Europe on Oct. 11. Women will also play additional dates with Liars on this tour, which is an incredible meeting of minds between two bands who have eviscerated the rock genre this year.
