Yesterday’s Wolfmother on the skids news was confirmed by the band’s publicist this morning, as it was announced Wolfmother’s bassist Chris Ross and drummer Myles Heskett will be leaving the Grammy Award-winning band. According to the press release, the band had taken the latter portion of 2007 off to relax and decide whether or not to remain a band. Earlier this year, they reconvened and were encouraged by new sessions. When they decided to play a few show to test out the new songs, including a tumultuous set at Splendour in the Grass, things began to deteroriate.
Frontmant Andrew Stockdale will continue on with the Wolfmother name, and will look for replacements. Ross and Heskett will begin a new band, as the pair had been writing songs on their own.

Well there you go. I hear The Darkness are still together and looking for a frontman. They could be The Wolfness.
