Yesterday, we brought you video of Wolf Parade performing "Knocking on Heaven's Door" in what seemed to be their last performance ever. It's above for you to relive. The group had planned a hiatus prior to playing Sasquatch and Vancouver, but the rumors following the gig, and given that last song, were that the band is done forever. Global and Mail interviewed Spencer Krug following the performance, and he did literally nothing to dispel the notion that the band is breaking up.
"There are no future plans," Krug said of Wolf Parade. "This could be the last show. We're not so naive to think it couldn't be. We're also not so naive to be so black and white as to say it definitely is our last show, you know?"
"All of our hearts are, at least creatively, they're split into different spaces right now, that Wolf Parade is not in," Krug explained. "We love each other like brothers. We're not doing this because there's any bad blood or anything but, creatively, it feels like it's time to stop."
So, according to Krug, the band might be done, but they might also get back together at some time. Thanks dude. But Krug is pretty busy--he's putting out a new Moonface album--and Dan Boeckner is dropping Sound Kapital with Handsome Furs later this summer. Here's hoping we get a Wolf Parade reunion at ATP in 2016. [Exclaim]
