WNBC Discovers Auto-Tune, Hates On Bon Iver
I'm not based in New York, but it seems like the news there isn't unlike the news here: Apparently someone at WNBC just discovered this thing called "Auto-Tune" that allows "singers" to "sound good." This is investigative journalism at its tops. Edward R. Murrow would have been filing reports like this.
But we're not here to hate on New York local news: How about the fact that this crazy news story lumped Bon Iver in with Ke$ha, Rebecca Black and that one monster lady from Real Housewives. They apparently don't understand the difference between textural choices (which is why Bon Iver uses Auto-Tune, and also Kanye) and choices made because people can't sing (like most other people). But then again, they're doing a story on Auto-Tune over at WNBC, eight years after that would have made sense, so we can't expect much.
