Winehouse’s "Rehab" was an unanticipated hit

In a recent interview with The Times, producer Mark Ronson claims he had no intention of creating a pop hit for jazz swooner Amy Winehouse.

"We were in our own bubble, just making music we liked. So while I knew it was good, I had no idea why her A&R guy saw dollar signs the very instant we first played him 'Rehab,'” says Ronson.

Despite the success of “Rehab,” Ronson still has production insecurities and is not confident his work with artists Lily Allen and Kaiser Chiefs will live up to his new found reputation. [NME]
