Winehouse In The Top Five, Adele Still In Top Three

With a full sales week since her death, Amy Winehouse's Back to Black is the number four album in the country, selling 54,000 copies, an impressive number, to be sure. Last week Winehouse was at number nine, since there were only two days of sales since her death counted that week.

The bigger story is that Adele is still in the top three, moving down one spot this week to number two, after actually selling more albums this week, moving 83,000 copies of 21 (up seven percent). How is Adele still so popular? And how come there are always 75-85,000 new people buying her album? I don't get it. The number one album in the country is Eric Church's Chief, but let's pretend we don't have any idea what that means (because we don't). [Billboard]

that is the crazy part about the Adele record to me too. How is she still getting another 80K in sales at this point. Are people still finding out about her? Weird.
