Did you ever think these three things would go together: Willie Nelson, Coldplay, and Chipotle? Well if you said no, you’d be wrong. Dead wrong. Because it’s come to our attention that Nelson has covered Coldplay’s “The Scientist” as part of a new campaign by Chipotle Mexican Grill that emphasizes sustainable agriculture and education.
The track is available for purchase on iTunes right now and all of the proceeds raised from its sales will go toward the restaurant chain’s Cultivate Foundation. According to its website, the foundation “is committed to creating a more sustainable and healthful food supply and to raising awareness concerning food issues.” And that message is delivered loud and clear in the below video that depicts an animated farmer showcasing the benefit of having a sustainable farm, which is something Nelson has been down with for a while now.
