With one of the most celebrated musicals in recent memory under their belts, Trey Parker and Matt Stone have begun looking once again towards film. The South Park creators intend, at some point, to make their smash-hit The Book of Mormon into a feature film and they’re making some unexpected choices when it came to casting.
In a recent press conference, Parker said “Who’s my dream cast? Justin Bieber for [lead role] Elder Price,” to which Stone responded, “We’d definitely go younger than the stage cast because the camera gets so close.” Of course, Parker’s comment was received with quite a laugh, so it’s hard to tell if he was being sincere, but either way it’s funny.
Parker and Stone also noted that while they don’t have any immediate plans for a film adaptation, they definitely want to do it “someday.” The pair previously hit the silver screen with films like Orgazmo and South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. [Moviefone]
