Widespread Panic replace Allmans, bump Johnson at Bonnaroo

Widespread Panic is the new closing act for Bonnaroo’s main stage. They are stepping in for the Allman Brothers, who were forced to cancel due to Gregg Allman’s health issues. While the cancellation is unfortunate, the really interesting part is that Widespread Panic isn’t taking the Allman’s slot. Rather, Jack Johnson, who had been scheduled to close the festival on Sunday, will now play in the Allmans’ Saturday slot before Pearl Jam. One wonders if this is a consolidation of power on Saturday or a subtle admission that having Jack Johnson in the last slot isn’t so cool when he’s headlining every festival this summer. In other lineup news, Bonnaroo has added Les Claypool, Chali 2na of Jurassic 5, Superdrag, What Made Milwaukee Famous, Adele, Grand Ole Party and the Postelles to this year's festival lineup. Bonnaroo is set for June 12-15 in Manchester, Tennessee. [Billboard]
