I imagine that British dance-rocker Whitey is the type of guy James Murphy is singing to in "North American Scum." Europeans seem to get a much bigger "cool pass" when they mix dance floor fun with rock swagger. I mean, look at that picture. Whitey is so cool he can't even look us in the eye. Lighting a ciggie is so much more important than meaningful human contact.
