White Stripes Working on New Album

Jack White might have his hands full with Dead Weather (who have an album out in June and a festival tour later this summer) but apparently The White Stripes are also on his mind, telling Music Radar that he and Meg White have started work on their seventh album.

"We had recorded a couple of songs at the new studio."

"I talked to her [Meg] about coming by when I was done in the summer rehearsing with The Dead Weather - I won't be done in the summer touring with them, but after the summer jaunt."

And when asked when the pair will release the album, Jack revealed: "It won't be too far off. Maybe next year."

The White Stripes have been on something of a hiatus following Meg's health problems during the tour behind the group's Icky Thump. Jack explains Meg's health problems as them just needing to take a break.:

"We just needed to stop for a while. When it comes down to your health... It's hard; people don't really understand."

"They think you go up on stage and you're having a blast, like you're partying or some s***. That's not the case. It's hard work to go on tour."

So there you have it, White Stripes=everything's okay. New album could be out next year. If it's anything like the real short lead up to the last Raconteurs album, it could be coming out as a quick surprise. [Angry Ape]
