Jack White’s been busy with the Raconteurs, but it’s been a while since we heard anything from the White Stripes. A 2007 tour was canceled after Meg White claimed to be suffering from anxiety problems, and little has been heard from the band since. Meg did surface at a Raconteurs show in June 2008, and it’s widely expected that a new White Stripes album will surface some time in 2009.Now the rumor mill is gathering pace, as a White Stripes performance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien appears to have been scheduled. According to this site, the band will appear on Late Night on February 20, which would be the first time the band has made any kind of public appearance since 2007.
The story is only a rumor at the present time, but the band has a healthy relationship with O’Brien, who famously booked them to play every week on the show back in 2003. The official schedule for Late Night only runs until February 13, so watch this space for further details. [via The Modern Age]

That would appear to be Conan's last Late Night show, before he moves to L.A. to take over the Tonight Show. Seems plausible...
