Weird Web Rumor Of The Day: Al Jourgensen Did Shasta Ad In 1983

This kind of post is basically tailor-made for Fridays during the summer: no one's around, people are dreaming of the beach, and are interested only in those weird stories that seem too crazy to ignore. Like this one, that posits that Al Jourgensen of Ministry created the above Shasta commercial in 1983. It sort of does sound like Jourgensen, and it wouldn't be crazy to think he did this to make some scratch back in the day, but there's almost no way to confirm this (without having to contact Jourgensen, but even then, he might deny, deny, deny). It's basically the Obama in the "Whoomp! There It Is" video story, but with a shittier product and a lesser celebrity. [Daily Swarm]

It's him. Guaranteed. I knew about it at the time. Remember, Chicago was king of the advertising jingle, and this was recorded at Streeterville Studios, where Ministry did a lot of early work in the "With Sympathy" days.
