In an interview with Wired in September, Weird Al talked about how the lack of truly transcendent pop song songs (and the speed at which songs enter and disappear off the charts) has significantly harmed his ability to do relevant song parodies. Apparently, Al has realized that he can move at a fast pace as well—he announced on his MySpace blog on Friday that he is rush releasing a single tomorrow of a song that is:
“a parody of a song that very recently was (or perhaps still is) the number one song in the country. That would be another first for me—I don't think I've ever released a parody of a song while the original song was still number one!"
Well, the current number one is T.I.’s “Whatever You Like,” but I can’t imagine Al giving that one a go. I think the only song he can be talking about is “I Kissed a Girl,” to which the world shudders in horror. If he does indeed do Katy Perry’s magnum opus, it will only encourage her. Plus, what route could Al go with that one? “I Killed A Squirrel?” Al promises that if this song works out (as in sells a bunch of copies) this could be how he operates in the future. [Idolator]
I haven't followed Weird Al consistently since I was 9, but I think White and Nerdy was his last big one. But that seems like it's 6 years old. Eventhough it's really like two or three.
It is a parody of T.I.'s song, not Katy Perry's. Thank god.
The parody will release on iTunes tomorrow, October 7th. The song, aptly titled "Whatever You Like", will be exclusive for two weeks, then available everywhere.

Weezy
Yeah "White and Nerdy" was from his last album Straight Outta Lynnwood and his last big single however the T.I. parody was his last song that was released
Was "White and Nerdy" his last big song?
