Weezer found a long term home at Geffen Records early in their career, but may be set to part ways with the label. Their contract with Geffen has now expired, and the band members haven’t yet decided on a course of action, which has led to speculation that they may sign to an indie label.
"We're always planning and scheming something," said bassist Scott Shriner in an interview with Billboard.com. "We're always working on some new music. I can't really go into any detail about that yet, but we're all writing and working on new stuff." The group is now planning an expanded edition of Pinkerton and a collection of rarities, both of which are expected to be released this year.
“It's a ton of B-sides from a big period of time," said Shriner. "Rivers has been mostly in charge of picking which songs are gonna be on that...I played on a lot of the songs. Some of the songs were around before I was in the band.” An earlier version of the Billboard article, which stated the group had definitely left Geffen, has since been amended—so clearly something is afoot in the Weezer camp.

Some Pinkerton B-sides are about the only thing that can get me interested in what Weezer is up to these days.
I'm with Brandon.
