As reported earlier this month, Weezer ended its contractual agreement with Geffen with the release of its seventh album, Raditude, and has been looking for an indie label to put out its next LP. Apparently, the four have found a home on the punk-heavy roster of Epitaph Records. The news was first announced by label owner Brett Gurewitz via Twitter last night; he stated, "Rivers, Pat, Brian and Scott, Welcome to Epitaph homies! FT=W=." Does someone foresee a Bad Religion, Alkaline Trio, Weezer mega tour in the works?
Weezer's forthcoming LP, Hurley, will be released on Sept. 14. [Billboard]
