Weakest Link Brit-rock edition on the way?

Is the writer's strike effecting British Television as well? Because once you read this news, you'll think that TV execs across the pond are as hard up for ideas as their counterparts over here. BBC programmers are hoping to talk some of '90s Brit-rock's biggest names into duking things out on a special edition of The Weakest Link. (Apparently that game show didn't flame out in Britain like it did here.) Those asked on the show include both Gallagher brothers, Damon Albarn, Jarvis Cocker, Justine Frischmann of Elastica fame (how come she's never developed a solo career, exactly?), and members of Suede, Supergrass, and Manic Street Preachers. In case you're thinking that the Albarn/Oasis relationship could be the testiest in that room, remember that Albarn also has a complicated history with Frischmann and Suede's Brett Anderson. In the early '90s, Frischmann reportedly left Anderson and his band for Albarn, but when she later broke with the Blur frontman, it led Albarn to write much of the sad material on 13. Game on!

I'd be OK with this.
