In the latest episode of Pitchfork.TV’s Frames, Wayne Coyne spins quite a yarn. The Flaming Lips frontman tells the tale of one of the band’s more bizarre merchandizing ideas to date.
Apparently a while back Coyne’s wife had the idea to make the Lips’ merch more interactive by designing vibrating underwear for the ladies. Coyne then has the brilliant idea to make all the panties remote controlled, so that during key moments in a Flaming Lips set, he can pull the switch and really get the crowd excited.
The whole story plays out over an impressive and fittingly bizarre animation by Stephen McNally. Check it out below.
