With King of the Beach, Wavves' Nathan Williams managed to avoid the fate of fellow backlash-buddy M.I.A, lending more credibility to the theory that artists can do whatever they like, as long as their art is good enough for us to ignore their erratic behavior (although the fact that Wavves generally sings about skateboarding and getting high--and not, you know, genocide--probably increased the blogosphere's capacity for forgiveness). Anyway, Williams has today announced the expansion of his celebratory, continent-jumping jaun, which will see its grand finale on the stage of Madison Square Garden (!) playing with the gloriously mismatched Phoenix.
