Waters traces the storied history of his signature pig

It turns out Roger Waters has never let Peter Frampton borrow his pig, and the Coachella thing was kind of a publicity stunt. Those are only two of the many pork related revelations that Roger Waters makes in a candid interview about one of the most famous props in rock and roll. In addition to admitting that he really didn’t want Obama pig back, Waters outlines some history, from the pig’s first appearance on the cover of Animals to the appearance of porcine cojones in the mid-eighties as Waters departed Floyd and the remaining band skirted his copyright. The full interview is here, and includes pictures of the pig’s various modern incarnations that are decorated by graffiti artists local to each concert. [Rolling Stone
