Watch What Might Be Sonic Youth’s Final Concert (Video)

    After some 30 years together performing and recording music, the future of Sonic Youth remains uncertain following news of Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon’s split. And last night, the band played what might have been their final concert ever. They performed a 70-minute set as part of the SWU Music & Arts Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and, thankfully, someone ripped the TV broadcast so the rest of us can enjoy it.

    It’s a bittersweet feeling, of course, especially as you watch them close out the performance with a 10-minute, noise-fueled rendition of “Teen Age Riot.” Sigh. You can watch the entire performance below. It’s a three-part video playlist. [Slicing Up Eyeballs]
