If you grew up in the 90s, then you grew up during an era of iconic popular culture. From Saved By The Bell to The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and everything in between, the 90s were stocked full of classic moments, both amazing and corny. The abundance of pop culture gold from that era often times provokes brands to reprise those moments in the form modern day advertisements, with hopes that the feeling of nostalgia might lead to increased product sales. Sometimes these ads are hugely successful, going viral the second they hit the Internet, like Jerry Seinfeld’s Super Bowl commercial for his new series Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, which brought back Seinfeld for a 90 second spot featuring some classic George and Jerry banter.
Well yesterday, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese dropped a brand new ad, featuring Vanilla Ice resurrecting his 90s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle rap, “Go Ninja, Go.” Whether or not this ad helps Kraft move some extra units remains to be seen. Check the ad below.
