Watch The Trailer For Joe Dante’s Long-Awaited Film ‘The Hole’

A trailer for Joe Dante’s long-delayed film The Hole has finally hit the Internet, thanks to Yahoo! Movies.

The PG-13 horror film is about a group of siblings who discover that a hole in the basement of their house causes their worst fears to manifest in reality. Dante completed The Hole in 2009, played several film festivals and was released internationally, but the US release was delayed for almost three years.

New distributor Big Air Studios is taking on the release of the film, which last released Archie’s Final Project, another long-delayed film. The Hole will open in theaters on Sept 28. Select theaters will be presenting the film in 3-D. It will be the first Dante-helmed film to hit theaters since 2003’s critically loathed Looney Toons: Back in Action.

Judging by the trailer, The Hole definitely looks like it’s in league with Dante’s past family-friendly horror-comedies like Gremlins and The ‘Burbs. Check out the trailer below and judge for yourself.
