Over the weekend, The National played its first show in eight months--at a campaign rally for President Barack Obama in Des Moines, Iowa. According to Rolling Stone, the swing state garnered a large crowd of 10,000 people for the free, outdoor event at Urbandale's Living History Farms.
Before giving the floor to Chris Cornell and President Obama, The National performed five songs that included "Bloodbuzz Ohio" and the aptly titled "Mr. November."
Before the performance, the group tweeted "Proud to support @BarackObama again in 2012." The National also performed at an Obama rally in 2008, where the band designed a t-shirt and lent their song "Fake Empire" to a campaign ad.
