For only the third time this year, The Cure played out this past weekend. Their performance, which apparently featured a 32-track setlist, came as part of the U.K.'s Bestival 2011. And according to Consequence of Sound, the set was the first in some six years to feature keyboardist Roger O'Donnell, who was kicked out of The Cure in 2005. He will remain part of the band's live lineup.
Along with confirming O'Donnell's appearance, CoS learned that Robert Smith and company are indeed working on a new album. When it will surface remains up in the air, though it's likely that said project would serve as the sequel to 2008's 4:13 Dream. Fans will remember that 4:13 Dream was meant to be a double album but that idea was obviously scrapped.
