Watch: The Creators Project's Interview With Squarepusher

· by

As he explains in the above 10-minute interview with the Creators Project, Tom Jenkinson -- who we all know as Squarepusher -- "loves the sound of information." So much so that he was actually inspired by that annoying modem dialing sound we all heard in the '90s while booting up our 56K modem. In other words, while you were probably waiting impatiently to get online to chat with friends and strangers, Jenkinson was taking notes.

Many of the same squealing, static-y noises have made their way into his music, which he also demonstrates throughout the interview. You also get to see how unbelievably nimble he is on bass while learning about his self-proclaimed hard-headedness, which has made him stray away from collaborations.

To call this interview a must-see for Squarepusher fans is a massive understatement. You get a sense of what makes the U.K.-based musician tick along with great footage of his music videos -- "Come on My Selector," anyone? -- and his live shows.
