There are movie lines that catch people's imaginations and inspire them to do impressions whenever they can. A few years ago, most people seemed to be able to do a halfway decent Daniel Plainview from There Will Be Blood. Movies like the Lord of the Rings trilogy also inspired a lot of quotations.
This year's most popular voice appears to be Tom Hardy's Bane from The Dark Knight Rises. Something about the strange combination of distortion, brutality and a gentle English accent gave rise to a distinctive tone that people seem very good at replicating.
Therefore, you would think that if there's one place to find the best impressions of this comic book character, it'd be at the New York Comic Con. Everyone there should be familiar with the movie, and they've clearly practiced it with their friends and family for months.
Unfortunately, as you'll see in the video below (via Vulture), no one seems to be able to adequately replicate Tom Hardy's distinctive voice. Check it out yourself if you don't believe me, and start practicing your Bane impression now if you don't want to look like these folks.
