The Hyundai-sponsored RE:GENERATION music project has birthed some previously unlikely collaborations. Perhaps the most oddball of these is the three surviving Doors members (Robby Krieger, Ray Manzarek, John Densmore) teaming up with dubstep producer, Skrillex. On "Breakin' A Sweat," this past-meets-present rework yields a video as enthralling as its music.
That means...well, this video shows the four guys working in the studio spliced with clips of Skrillex performing live. Krieger's guitar licks are suitably slick, but they're shrouded in too many effects. And poor Densmore--let's be real--nobody hears you playing that drum just before the one minute mark. You can check the video out below, but be warned, it's just not as cool as DJ Premier rocking with a symphony. Also--I don't know if this was publicized when the collaboration was announced--but Skrillex and the three-quarter Doors are sweating because they took molly before writing this. [Hypetrak]
