Last night, Radiohead agreed to perform on The Colbert Report, as well as subject themselves to host Stephen Colbert's signature good-natured ribbing. Sample questions included, "Why do we like you?," "Do you look to any of the early (British) Invaders?" and, "How old are you?" Yorke's answers were, in order, "We don't know," "We're still waiting for the greeting when we get off the airplane with the crowds and shit," and, "Forty-two, right?"
They'd go on to perform a mini-set, featuring the unreleased gem "Daily Mail," King Of Limbs standout "Bloom," and one of the all-time Radiohead greats, "The National Anthem."
This is just the latest in a rush of what we’re calling the Radiohead New York Public Goodwill Tour 2011, which began with last week’s performance on Saturday Night Live and will culminate with their two massively exclusive NYC shows at the Roseland Ballroom on the 28th and 29th, a concert space that’s more used to seeing artists with the buzz of, say, J. Cole. The shows—the band’s first since releasing The King of Limbs earlier this year—sold out in seconds, so in all likelihood you did not get your hands on any tickets. Sorry. [The Audio Perv]
