Watch: Michael Kiwanuka Does "I'm Getting Ready" On 'Conan'
England's Michael Kiwanuka has the weary voice of a man much older than his 24 years would suggest. On his debut album--this year's Home Again--Kiwanuka's rich vocals are wrapped up in the kinds of jazzy, '60s singer-songwriter trappings that wouldn't sound out-of-place on a Van Morrison or Nick Drake record.
Last night, Kiwanuka made his way to Conan to perform "I'm Getting Ready" off Home Again. He was backed by a spare band which allowed him to show off his expressive voice and simple-but-effective songwriting. Watch the performance below.
