It's one of the most notoriously salacious songs of all time—Tipper Gore heard it and all of a sudden there were all these black-and-white stickers on CDs with bad words in them—and now Prince's legendary "Darling Nikki" has gotten a different sort of treatment.
Last night on Jimmy Fallon, Maya Rudolph got onstage with Gretchen Lieberum and debuted their Prince cover band, Princess. How? With a rendition of "Darling Nikki" backed by Fallon's house band—yup, The Roots. Gawker is calling it "the best thing on TV last night," and we're pretty inclined to agree. Princess are playing the Brooklyn Bowl tonight, too. [Okayplayer]
