Lorde has found more success in one year than most people have had their whole lives. And she continues to keep that success going by gaining more fans with her live television performance on Late Night With David Letterman. Performing "Team" from her brand new album, she oozed with a mature appeal that no other 17 year old could exude. She also continued to perform on Letterman's webcast series and gave the fans an extended treat.
But in addition to her new found success, she gets even bigger bragging rights with her newly signed publishing deal. Recently, it was announced that she has signed a $2.5 million deal with Songs Music Publishing. The deal includes her Club EP, her new album Pure Heroine, and future records. The founder and CEO Matt Pincus stated that Lorde is "a once-in-a-generation type artist.”
Also, if you haven’t heard it yet – Lorde has also decided to cover Tears For Fears’ “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” for the upcoming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack. What a fitting name for the budding young artist.
