Watch: Lil Wayne Performs "How To Love" & "John" At The MTV VMAs

Last night was easily the biggest night for Lil Wayne's career in recent history. Not only did he headline the MTV Video Music Awards, but he also released his latest opus, the delayed-so-many-times-but-hey-it's-finally-out Tha Carter IV, at midnight on iTunes. Physical copies of the album are out now, too. It will be interesting to see how Weezy performs in his first week and whether or not he can top the sales of Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch The Throne, especially considering the recent beef he's stirred up with Jigga.

And since then, we have digested Tha Carter IV and received an extra eyeful of Weezy's VMA performance. And, um, was anyone else pretty damn underwhelmed? His tender song-for-the-ladies "How to Love" sounded just fine in a live setting and, if nothing else, made us appreciate the track more than we did before. But the rawk version of "John" was just a disaster. The lyrics were censored to the point you couldn't understand a majority of what Weezy was rapping about. And it's not clear why his guest on the track, Rick Ross, wasn't onstage with Weezy. Did we miss something where Rozay hurt his leg and couldn't walk around with a mic in his hand?

You can watch the performance below. Tha Carter IV is out now.
