The DJ White Shadow produced song "Applause" for Lady GaGa now gets an official music video (well, other than the lyric video which was practically the same thing minus the lyrics). Shot by Dutch photographers Inez & Vinoodh, the black and white video is sexed up Gaga displaying all sorts of artful pop imagery until it gets all wild, dynamic, and colorful near the end of the video.
In an interview with Ryan Secreast, the artist revealed some details behind the song's meaning:
“I was in a lot of pain, but didn’t know where really. I have a strong threshold for pain, so I kept slapping myself saying, ‘Get it together.’ The only thing that kept me going was the applause,” she said. “And I was able to drown out the pain and finish the show.”
Not only is this the first official single to Lady Gaga's upcoming album ARTPOP out on November 11, 2013 - but she will also be performing the single at the VMAs.
