64 year-old reggae legend and trailblazer Jimmy Cliff performed on the Late Show With David Letterman last night. Cliff performed “One More,” a roosty, brass-heavy track from Cliff’s latest album, Sacred Fire.
Fresh off a performance at Celebrate Brooklyn! in Prospect Park, Cliff engaged the Late Show crowd and got them to participate in a call and response. The result was a entertaining performance very out of the norm of most music performances on late night television. Even Letterman, who is often relatively unenthusiastic with his musical guests, exclaimed a genuine "Fantastic!" at the end of the song. [Rolling Stone]
