Got two and a half hours to spare? Above for your entertainment/curiosity/work avoidance is the Amanda Palmer-created musical, With the Needle That Sings in Her Heart, a musical based on Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. The play is performed by students from Palmer's high school alma mater, Lexington High School. The whole thing takes a while to load, and it's pretty bizarre, but it's still a cool idea. oh my god. i clicked on a random part and ended up on a guy in a blue sequined jacket and top hat singing "king of carrot flowers pt.1." what a godawful way to start the day.
Even after seeing this in person, I still watched it again. Although the video doesn't capture the thick emotion in the auditorium that night, it is still lovely, and brilliant. These kids rock my socks.
